Screams in the night, doors banging mysteriously and bottles of whisky moving themselves along a shelf…it can only mean one thing – The Winnock Hotel is haunted!

Staff members who are based at the hotel in Drymen near Loch Lomond are convinced they’ve got an unwelcome visitor who keeps popping up to give them a fright.

One woman who works there said: “Every night there’s lots of banging doors, people in rooms screaming in the night, bumps and bangs everywhere.”

And the head housekeeper at the Winnock Hotel, Mary, is absolutely terrified after hearing and tales about a ghost who is said to roam the corridors.

Explaining a bit more about the story, she said: “It’s supposed to be an old lady that haunts these rooms in the corridor. I’ve heard she’s got long white hair that’s always dripping wet.”

Another member of staff also claims that she’s seen bottles of whisky moving themselves along a shelf…with no visible thief lurking in the shadows.
